Equine osteopathy

What is equine osteopathy?

The healthiness of every organism depends on the balance of all its motions. This is true for the human being as well as the animal. Based on the doctrine and insights of human osteopathy by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, this kind of therapy was researched and successfully transferred to the horse. According to the basic concept that anatomical disorganizations provoke congestion of lymph nodes or nerves, the equine osteopathy works follwing the principle:

"Find the dysfunction, fix it and leave it alone."
 Dr. Andrew Taylor Still

When does my horse need therapy?

Being a flight animal for a horse it is just a natural reaction to retreat or show signs of evasive reactions when experiencing pain. The horse compensates in motion and tries to avoid the pain. At the latest at that moment it is required for the human to help the horse to overcome this anatomic dysfunction with specific and selective actions. The ambition is to identify the dysfunction and reestablish balance in its physiologic movements and the whole organism. This way the metabolism is also improved.
